15 Hours - Disaster Site Worker Safety & Health
Course Overview
The OSHA 15-Hour Disaster Site Worker Safety &
Health course is designed to prepare workers who may be deployed to
disaster sites—such as those impacted by natural or man-made catastrophes—where
emergency response and recovery efforts are underway. This course equips
participants with the essential knowledge and skills to work safely in
potentially hazardous and unpredictable environments that involve structural
damage, debris, hazardous materials, and disrupted infrastructure. It
emphasizes site-specific hazard awareness, the proper use of personal protective
equipment (PPE), and the importance of following Incident Command System (ICS)
protocols.
This training is ideal for skilled support personnel,
laborers, volunteers, and others involved in cleanup and recovery operations at
disaster sites. It supplements the OSHA 10- or 30-hour general or construction
training but does not replace it.
